Looking up through the glass ceiling of a yurt in Oregon.

They seem to be getting very popular in Oregon. Don't remember seeing them a couple of years ago. A nice step up from your basic tent camping.

Red on brick

Somewhere in Oregon in a little town near the coast. I don't know what that red thing on the building is. If you know, ping me please.

Reflections on glass

Sunset reflected on a car window, somewhere along the Oregon coast. If you look carefully near the bottom left of the picture, you can see a soda cup inside the car.

"Flying Dragon" long jump

Above is the "Flying Dragon" style of long jump as exhibited by an athlete at the Prefontaine Classic track meet in Eugene, Oregon this year. Ok, I just made that up. But, that is a pretty cool way of making a long jump, isn't it?
For a complete writeup about the meet, read my other blog post here.

That's Mt.Thielsen, an extinct volcano in southern Oregon. It's 9182 feet high and close to Crater Lake National Park.

The price of fame
Below is a picture of Maria Mutola of Mozambique, arguably the greatest female 800m runner of all time, seconds after winning the 800m race at the 2007 Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

After a few minutes of catching her breath, she tries to get up with a bouquet in her hand, to run a lap of honor. Count the number of photographers surrounding her.
